NMEAconnect offers versatile connectivity options to a wide range of NMEA sources via TCP/UDP, BLE, internal or external GPS modules, simulation, and logfile input. It functions effectively as an NMEA server or bridge, supporting data transfer over TCP/UDP protocols.

With NMEAconnect, users benefit from:

<li>A straightforward setup process with preconfigured sources, complemented by flexible configuration options</li>

<li>An integrated NMEA multiplexer, hub, or switch functionality</li>
<li>The capability to act as a server or repeater for forwarding NMEA messages to other devices (noting that many NMEA-WiFi gateways support only a single client)</li>

<li>MQTT broker, client, or gateway functionalities</li>
<li>Unrestricted logging of NMEA data, even when the application runs in the background</li>
<li>An innovative ‚nmeaconnect://‘ protocol designed for providing NMEA data to external systems such as Filemaker databases</li>
<li>Background update capabilities ensuring continuous data flow</li>
<li>A visual indicator to monitor real-time NMEA activity</li>
<li>Environment profiles that accommodate different system setups</li>
<li>Message rules including blocking, gating time, and customizable TalkerID for each NMEA sentence</li>

Devices not supported include Garmin GNT 10 and chartplotters, as well as Raymarine WiFi-compatible devices. These manufacturers currently do not collaborate with the platform and maintain proprietary systems.
